Place in a Piece of Elegant History

If you ever find yourself in Franklin, Tennessee, you are now cordially invited to come and view Jonathan's art in the exquisite "Gallery 202"!

Saturday Jonathan and I took a trip up to Franklin, Tn. We had the honor of being contacted by the owner of a new gallery opening right in the center of the historic, downtown Franklin. They found his art, and fell in love with it! So, Jonathan and I took advantage of a short weekend get-a-way to meet him, and to see the gallery.

What a fun time it was! We walked the neighborhoods enjoying the site of the lovely, historic, handcrafted homes. We looked through the windows of stores taking residency in the sculpted stone and brick strips off of Main Street [which by the way was featured in Southern Living this past month- for you magazine enthusiasts].

We walked a little past the square, and there arrived at "Clouston Hall". A beautiful little brick building from 1826. It was built with the intention of hosting parties, which is has over time hosted parties with four of our presidents. This unique home has loads of history, from parties for the higher-up, to being a "hospital" during the Civil War. You will find proof when you see blood stains on the thick planked, gorgeous wood floors throughout. You walk in the arched front door, to a elegant crystal chandelier, which was original to the house. Every corner of this building tells a story, both new and old. You will find yourself surrounded with history, and with some of those which are making history. And as your tour this home, made into an elegant gallery, you will find a room dedicated to the art of Jonathan Howe!

As we spoke to the owner, he had already purchased for his own pleasure, paintings of Jonathan's to hang in the gallery. It was nick-named the "peaceful, safe room". He said that all the people who come into the gallery, stop here and take a deep breath... The common word used when looking at his art is: "Peace".

Hmmmmmmm.........   John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

God portrays his gifts to us, through the gifts he's given us. Jonathan's art is a testimony to the peace of Knowing Christ!

We went with the intention of just sight seeing and getting an idea of what this gallery was about. And left with papers signed, and two other paintings in the gallery to hang. God is good! Please enjoy the results of our trip through this small list of pictures!

Here is a old picture of Clouston Hall from the Heritage Foundation.

The staircase leading up to two rooms designed as gorgeous bedrooms filled with original artwork, and sculptures. Did I mention that the owner is also a well-established interior designer? =)

Some of Jonathan's art already on the wall. Such a beautiful display.  What you cannot see is the gorgeous fireplace across from it and massive, dark wood, arts and crafts style double doors as a beautiful entrance.

Jonathan signing the papers allowing them to be the main gallery to show his art in the Franklin area.

And finally..........

Us! The reason for our trip was never for business, but for the sheer enjoyment of getting away, just us, on a short adventure. And God has blessed our desires for one another in many ways. Be blessed my friends, and thank you for sharing this milestone with us. Please remain in prayer for us, and for Jonathan that God would continue to further his art, and increase his God glorifying ministry.
